We determine the rating based on an average day of the tour, which may have varying levels of difficulty throughout the trip. Leisurely tours are perfect for those who want to enjoy a relaxed ride through stunning landscapes, without the pressure of covering long distances or tackling challenging terrain. These tours typically cover 30-50 km per day, with an elevation gain of up to 500m. You’ll have plenty of time to stop and take in the views, enjoy local cuisine, and explore the charming towns and villages along the way. Moderate cycling tours are ideal for those who want a balance of scenic rides and a bit of a challenge. These tours typically cover 50-80 km per day, with an elevation gain of up to 1000m. You’ll ride through beautiful countryside and charming villages, with a mix of flat and hilly terrain. There’s plenty of time to stop and explore, while still getting a great workout on the bike. Challenging cycling tours are designed for experienced cyclists who want to push themselves to the limit. These tours typically cover 80-120 km per day, with an elevation gain of up to 2000m. You’ll tackle steep climbs and challenging terrain, with stunning views as your reward. These tours require a high level of fitness and endurance, but the sense of accomplishment at the end of each day is unbeatable.

Moreover, we can personalize your vacation based on your preferences and budget, making sure we discover the most fitting solution for your needs.

How far in advance should I book?

We advise booking your tour as early as possible, especially for popular tourist destinations where accommodation options are limited. The best choices are often booked out for summer before spring even arrives.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

While vegetarian options are relatively common in Spain, finding vegan dishes can be more difficult in rural areas or smaller towns. It’s worth noting that lunch stops are typically at traditional establishments that may not be able to fulfill special requests beyond their standard menu. What's the best season for cycling in Spain?

Typically, late spring (May) and early autumn (September) are optimal for cycling tours, depending on the specific tour. However, summer can also be considered depending on the region due to potentially high temperatures.

What if the weather forecast is unfavorable?

Most tours can still take place in light rain as long as you dress appropriately. During the summer months, afternoon thunderstorms are common, so it’s best to start the tour early. If the weather looks particularly bad, we can try to make adjustments to the tour ahead of time.

What kind of bicycle is the best for these tours?

Our tours are specially designed for road bikes unless specified differently, and when it comes to Spain, an endurance road bike would be the most optimal choice. However, using a different type of bike will not pose any issues . Gravel bikes can be an excellent alternative as they offer versatility without compromising road performance. Rest assured, we can always customize our tours to accommodate your bike. For instance, if you opt for a gravel bike, we can incorporate gravel roads into the itinerary. Regardless of your bike choice, you are more than welcome to join our road cycling tours in Spain, as we will make the necessary adjustments to ensure a seamless experience.

How does luggage transfer work?

On cycling trips, luggage transfer allows you to ride without carrying heavy bags. Each morning, you leave your luggage at the designated spot—often the hotel reception—and it’s transported to your next overnight stop. Your bags are usually waiting for you when you arrive. Weight limits and pickup times can vary slightly depending on the service provider.

Do you transfer bikes too? How does it work?

Yes, bike transfers are often available when needed—such as before, after, or during your trip. Bikes are typically transported in secure vehicles or trailers designed for bicycles. You may need to notify the provider in advance, and some services require the bike to be clean or partially disassembled. Exact procedures vary depending on location and logistics.

Upon your arrival at Gran Canaria airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in the historic center of Agüimes. You'll have the rest of the day to explore the charming town, with its narrow streets, charming bars, and restaurants around the main Rosario Square. Today's ride takes us to the highest point on Gran Canaria, Pico de las Nieves. The climb is long but mostly gentle, allowing you to settle into a nice rhythm and take in the stunning views from the top, which includes a vantage point overlooking the neighboring island of Tenerife. From there, the longer route includes a shorter climb while the shorter route descends to your hotel, set in the heart of the island at 1,400m altitude. Surrounded by imposing volcanic mountains and charming villages, with unforgettable views of the iconic Roque Nublo.

Today's route is the longest but also the easiest, as we descend from the Tejeda region all the way down to Gran Canaria's northern coast. The scenery changes as we pass through vibrant green hillsides, banana plantations, and dramatic coastal cliffs, almost like entering a completely different country. We'll visit Teror, Arucas, and Galdar - three of the oldest towns in Gran Canaria, all with lively old towns and charming squares full of traditional Canarian bars and cafes. We'll finish the routes in Agaete, where you can enjoy the views of the Tamadaba Natural Park, including a series of spectacular cliffs that extend along the coast.

Today, you will head south from Agaete, following a scenic road that climbs inland, running parallel to the coast with picturesque sea views. Near the top of the climb, we'll reach Risco Caído - a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site. The Risco Caído is home to cave-houses and agricultural buildings, dating from before the Spanish conquest of the Canary Islands. It was also the site of an ancient astronomical observatory, probably an important religious site of the indigenous Guanche culture.

On the seventh day of the tour, you will start with a climb out of La Aldea towards the town of Mogán. The surroundings become more desert-like, and you will see dramatic rock formations and cacti once again. You will descend to the charming coastal village of Puerto de Mogán, which is an ideal spot for a coffee or lunch break. From here, you can take a short ferry ride to the neighboring town and finish the day with a fantastic ride along the coast until you reach the finish line of this wonderful cycling tour right back to where you started in Agüimes.

I would highly recommend anyone doing this tour take the e-bike option. There were only 3 of us on our tour who completed this on regular bikes. Four others who started out on regular bikes swapped over to e-bikes after the first day. The climbs are long and steep. There is pretty much only up or down, not much flat or undulating road. It is doable, but very challenging. If you are on an e-bike then this also helps with the group staying together and no-one having to wait too long for others to catch up. The bikes were really good and had great gearing that was capable of handling the steeper climbs. When we booked we were unaware that we would be riding in a group of 20plus at all time. Thankfully our group had prior group riding experience but we did observe other large groups with less than desirable riding behaviours.Others in our group were extremely understanding and supportive. Our guide, David, was very adamant about staying safe on the road. He was flexible with the itinerary and made changes to suit the weather conditions and to ensure we got in as much riding as possible. He was vey knowledgeable about Croatian history and agriculture and taught us lots about the country he is so passionate about. Our captain, Tolma, was also amazing and along with his awesome crew, made our cruise an enjoyable experience.
