These tours typically cover 30-50 km per day, with an elevation gain of up to 500m. You’ll have plenty of time to stop and take in the views, enjoy local cuisine, and explore the charming towns and villages along the way. Moderate cycling tours are ideal for those who want a balance of scenic rides and a bit of a challenge. These tours typically cover 50-80 km per day, with an elevation gain of up to 1000m. You’ll ride through beautiful countryside and charming villages, with a mix of flat and hilly terrain. There’s plenty of time to stop and explore, while still getting a great workout on the bike. Challenging cycling tours are designed for experienced cyclists who want to push themselves to the limit. These tours typically cover 80-120 km per day, with an elevation gain of up to 2000m. You’ll tackle steep climbs and challenging terrain, with stunning views as your reward. These tours require a high level of fitness and endurance, but the sense of accomplishment at the end of each day is unbeatable.

How far in advance should I book?

We advise booking your tour as early as possible, especially for popular tourist destinations where accommodation options are limited. The best choices are often booked out for summer before spring even arrives.

It’s worth noting that lunch stops are typically at traditional establishments that may not be able to fulfill special requests beyond their standard menu. What's the best season for cycling in Spain?

Typically, late spring (May) and early autumn (September) are optimal for cycling tours, depending on the specific tour. However, summer can also be considered depending on the region due to potentially high temperatures.

What if the weather forecast is unfavorable?

What kind of bicycle is the best for these tours?

However, using a different type of bike will not pose any issues . Gravel bikes can be an excellent alternative as they offer versatility without compromising road performance. Rest assured, we can always customize our tours to accommodate your bike. For instance, if you opt for a gravel bike, we can incorporate gravel roads into the itinerary. Regardless of your bike choice, you are more than welcome to join our road cycling tours in Spain, as we will make the necessary adjustments to ensure a seamless experience.

How does luggage transfer work?

On cycling trips, luggage transfer allows you to ride without carrying heavy bags. Each morning, you leave your luggage at the designated spot—often the hotel reception—and it’s transported to your next overnight stop. Your bags are usually waiting for you when you arrive. Weight limits and pickup times can vary slightly depending on the service provider.

Do you transfer bikes too? How does it work?

Timanfaya National Park

Covering 5,000 hectares of volcanic terrain, Timanfaya National Park was formed by the eruptions between 1730 and 1736. The “Montañas del Fuego” (Fire Mountains) feature 25 volcanic cones and expansive lava fields. Visitors can witness geothermal demonstrations, where water poured into holes erupts as steam, and cooking is done using underground heat. The park is accessible via guided bus tours along the El Diablo route, offering breathtaking views of raw volcanic landscapes.

La Geria

La Geria is a volcanic wine region covering approximately 3,000 hectares. Grapevines grow in semi-circular stone pits, which protect them from strong winds and conserve moisture in the arid climate. The area produces Malvasia grapes for world-renowned wines. I would highly recommend anyone doing this tour take the e-bike option. There were only 3 of us on our tour who completed this on regular bikes. Four others who started out on regular bikes swapped over to e-bikes after the first day. The climbs are long and steep. There is pretty much only up or down, not much flat or undulating road. It is doable, but very challenging. If you are on an e-bike then this also helps with the group staying together and no-one having to wait too long for others to catch up. The bikes were really good and had great gearing that was capable of handling the steeper climbs. When we booked we were unaware that we would be riding in a group of 20plus at all time. Thankfully our group had prior group riding experience but we did observe other large groups with less than desirable riding behaviours.Others in our group were extremely understanding and supportive. Our guide, David, was very adamant about staying safe on the road. He was flexible with the itinerary and made changes to suit the weather conditions and to ensure we got in as much riding as possible. He was vey knowledgeable about Croatian history and agriculture and taught us lots about the country he is so passionate about. Our captain, Tolma, was also amazing and along with his awesome crew, made our cruise an enjoyable experience.
